Meet Janet

As a House Clearance Advisor my role is to provide practical assistance to solicitors in charge of managing the estate of deceased clients or those who have had to go into care.

Every clearance is different and I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs of each case with efficiency, respect and discretion. Whether that be carrying out an initial audit of contents, removing portable valuables and important paperwork or helping with a complete clearance. My fees are charged on an hourly rate to allow me to be as flexible as possible.

With over 20 years experience dealing in vintage & antiques, I've helped many families informally with advice on what to keep, sell or donate. Regularly liaising with auction houses, gaining valuations for pieces, organising items for sale or donation, helping to minimise waste and support charities.

I offer in-person support covering properties in North Yorkshire, Teeside and County Durham.

My aim is to help you reduce costs to the client's estate by maximising the value of items, minimising disposal costs and saving you time.

To discuss how I can be of assistance, please email for further details.

Online support when you're clearing the home of a loved one

For individuals dealing with a house clearance

The responsibility of emptying a property after the loss of a loved one or when they've gone into care, can be an emotionally challenging & overwhelming task. Unless you have some help and support, it can be a lengthy, stressful process at a time when emotions are high and you simply don't have the energy to cope.

It can feel like a constant stream of decisions to be made on what to keep, sell, donate or recycle and all with the weight of wanting to do the 'right' thing.

Combine that with the demands of your own life & work, with only so much time available or living a distance away from the property, and the strain can be simply too much to handle.

You are not alone in thinking

'I simply don't know where to start!'

By helping you work out your priorities and create a plan of action that is both practical for you and sensitive to your needs, I can support you through the process making it as smooth and manageable as possible.

An initial consultation call can help you to get past the overwhelm and give you the confidence & reassurance to know you can handle what has to be done.
